Match Policies

Teams will roster a team of 5 players with the visiting team and home team 'batting order' determined by their respective team Captain. For first time players and the first night of play in a new session, players will be allocated a default handicap of 7.

If a team is unable to field a full roster, forfeit should be entered in the 5th position (with an associated handicap of 7). The opposing team will garner 10 points in their respective 'match' against the forfeit position.

Provision is made for the recording of special feats such as E = Eight ball run out, F= First Approach, Z= Ten Zip and N=No Shot After the Break. An E is awarded for running the table with all 15 balls still on the table for the player making the break, the opponent or the ‘breaker’ on their subsequent turn at the table as this is considered their first approach. An F is awarded for running all your pattern of balls plus the 8 ball during one’s first approach to the table as per the previous sentence. A Z is awarded to the player that wins the game with all the opponent’s balls remaining on the table. An N is awarded to the loser of the match should they have not made a shot at the table.

On occasion when the breaker runs the table on the break, they make one of each pattern of balls on the break and as such a N is still awarded to the opponent as they had no opportunity to make a shot during the game. The N results in the round being discounted in the determination of the player's handicap as it was not indicative of the player's ability in the loss.

To help the League Statistician, be sure to total the Wins, Special Feats and Points for each Player and for the Team.
